ABOUT US:

Counterbalance is a non-profit film development and production organization. Our collective is comprised of women who support each other through new experiences and creations. Our members work in collaboration to build, foster and nurture new communities and voices through the medium of film.

OUR MISSION:

To foster women-led and women-focused content in all stages of film creation: development, direction, production, marketing and distribution
To create a welcoming space to develop ideas, further individual crafts, and learn to master new ones
To operate outside of the established industry framework and change the traditional norms of working in film
